Coming soon…

Fun fact: I’ve actually been blogging since 2011. “Where are all of the blog posts then?!” Well, disgruntled reader, let me explain:

My first online publication was called Spur Of The Moments, which I started in 2011 while attending UW-Madison. If you were with me back then, you know those early blog posts consisted of lots of low-res, Sony Cyber Shot imagery paired with high-res writing and concepts (think: delicious recipes, clever DIYs and low-budget thrift hauls, all presented with a sarcastic, cheeky tone). Eventually, I upgraded to a real camera and a jail-broken iPhone and started actually creating beautifully art-directed content, which I shamelessly cross-promoted on every social media platform, of course.

Through my Facebook and Instagram savviness and unapologetic posting schedule, my work started to get noticed. I got hired as an Art Director on a branded Kraft x POPSUGAR shoot. I kept getting hired. I became a producer there. I then went on to producing at Discovery, Inc., developing and producing digital shows for Food Network, HGTV, Magnolia Network and more. I then got hired as the Associate Creative Director at Bustle Digital Group, where I currently work.

While all of this success was exciting, the medium that got me into my career in the first place flew to the wayside. My humble blog and highly-curated IG feed slowly evolved into a hybrid CV/blog that showed off more of my commercial work and less of my passion projects. I found less time for writing, shooting and creating on my own time and more time on-set big budget shoots or at the office.

And after a few years of laying low, I’m back on my creator sh*t. I want to create for me. I want to share what I create. I want to use my free time to bring my passion for photography, art direction, directing, design, and even cooking, to life. And I want to do it in a way that is reflective of who I am today, not who I was 9 years ago.

Which brings us to today. Here, at my new personal site, which I am launching on July 21st, 2021, I’ll be sharing all of the above passions, along with random thoughts and activism & antiracism resources.

If you’ve read blog post #1 this far, thank you for tuning in, and I hope you’re as excited for this new chapter as I am.

TTYS.

PS: Social media has become this fast-paced, trend-based shopping experience that I simply need to move away from. And while I’ll still continue to share at my own pace both on my personal IG and my design IG, I’m excited to create at a slower velocity over here :)
